Legends Corner is planning an expansion, according to permits filed with Metro.

The bar and music venue at 428 Broadway received approval for a 1,740-square-foot addition.

Renovation plans include adding tables, a rounded bar and booth seating, according to reporting by the Nashville Business Journal.

Legends Corner has been operating since 1997 under the ownership of local hospitality veterans Ruble and Brenda Sanderson. The honky tonk aims to bring the dive bar experience to Nashville, along with live country music.

“Some will say that a tour to Nashville is never finished without visiting the tried and true honky-tonk saloons along downtown Broadway,” the Legends Corner website states. “While it’s hard to go wrong in any of these gritty watering holes, we stand out as one of the best! Country music records plaster the walls, but the actual attraction is the bar’s live music: Some of the city’s finest contemporary acts make their mark onstage.”

What Now Nashville reached out to Legends Corner but did not receive comment prior to the time of publication.
