The Bluebird Cafe is set to expand for the first time in its 44-year history with the launch of Bluebird East inside the Tennessee Titans’ new Nissan Stadium at 1 Titans Way, Nashville. The Nashville Business Journal reports that the new venue will be located behind the stadium’s East Goal stage and is expected to open when the new stadium is completed in 2027.
According to The Bluebird Cafe’s website, the venue opened in 1982 and has become one of Nashville’s most iconic listening rooms. Guests enjoy an intimate live music experience featuring both emerging and established songwriters while dining on a selection of sandwiches, salads, appetizers and desserts, along with beer, wine and other beverages.
According to the publication, Bluebird East is being designed as a flexible venue centered on Nashville’s songwriting community. Plans call for songwriter rounds, writing sessions and other music-focused events, while the Titans and The Bluebird Cafe are also exploring ways to extend the experience beyond the physical venue.
“The space will be very multi-usage but all anchored in the songwriting craft,” Jenny DeLoach, the Titans’ vice president of entertainment and fan engagement, said in a statement shared with the Nashville Business Journal.
Erika Wollam-Nichols, general manager and chief operating officer of The Bluebird Cafe, told the Nashville Business Journal that although the venue has received opportunities to expand over the years, this partnership stood out because it reflects the organization’s long-standing commitment to supporting songwriters throughout every stage of their careers.
The new venue will further extend The Bluebird Cafe’s presence beyond its longtime Green Hills home while adding another music-focused destination to Nissan Stadium, according to the Nashville Business Journal.
