Founded in Baton Rouge in 2016, Empire Wingz is preparing to open its third location this year, and it’s still only May. According to reports, owner Vic Smith is preparing to open the newest Capital Region location of his chicken wing chain at 7743 La. Highway 1 in Addis later this spring. The opening will come after two other locations swung open their doors for the first time earlier this year: one location in Gonzales and another in Zachary. According to 225, Smith also plans to open locations in other large cities such as Houston, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

Earlier this year, What Now New Orleans reported on the opening in Zachary and possible plans to expand to New Orleans. Empire Wingz has built a considerable fan base for its Buffalo wings, boneless wings, and a signature french fry dish called VJ Fries. In addition to brick-and-mortar locations, Empire Wingz also operates two food trucks in and around Baton Rouge.
