You might know Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux as a sizable sports bar and restaurant, but a new smaller design is being planned for Lafayette Parish. Instead of the standard 10,000-square foot post-industrial complex, the planned Walk-On’s will be more compact, measuring between 5,300 and 5,500 square feet, according to Developing Lafayette. Plans for the restaurant are currently being reviewed for permitting and construction is scheduled to be completed early next year. The location is being planned for Carencro on NE Evangeline Thruway.

News of a revamped Walk-On’s design for Carencro comes about one month after a location was closed in nearby Broussard. That location was opened in 2017 by a franchisee. While the smaller location is being developed by a different franchisee, the Walk On’s restaurant open in the City of Lafayette is corporate owned. Walk-On’s was founded by Brandon Landry, who was a walk-on basketball player with LSU.
