Heytea Opens Its First U.S. Gelato Lab + Store in NYC
Heytea has opened its new store at 863 Broadway in Union Square on October 16. It is the brand’s fourth lab-format store outside China. Its other lab-format stores are in New York’s Times Square, Toronto, and Bangkok. The store follows Heytea’s lab concept, which focuses on experimenting with tea-based products.
According to PRNewswire, the store’s menu features gelato and sorbet made daily using ingredients such as real fruit, fresh milk, and black sesame. Some of the flavors include Mango Coconut Sticky Rice Gelato, Jasmine Yuzu Sorbet, and “Cement” Black Sesame Gelato.
To celebrate the opening in NYC, the brand is introducing limited-edition products and collaborations. From October 26 to 30, the brand will collaborate with New York-based artist Jon Burgerman. The collection will include limited-edition stickers, mini canvas tote bags, and color-in cup sleeves featuring his playful illustrations.
From November 2 to 8, Heytea will partner with Tompkins Square Bagels to offer Everything Gelato. The limited-edition dessert combines cream cheese gelato with everything bagel seasoning and is served with a fresh bagel. The pairing will be available in limited quantities of 30 servings per day.
