Dim Sum Palace is known for its all-day dim sum service, which extends beyond the usual brunch hours, and the new location in Long Island City will follow suit. Varieties of dim sum like shrimp dumplings, sticky rice in lotus leaf, shumai, and more will be offered.

The new Dim Sum Palace location has opened at what was formerly known as the Brooks 1890 building. Before it closed in January 2025, the building had served as a gathering place for the community for 135 years.

Architecture elements of the interiors of the old Brooks 1890 building, such as the tiled floors, wood timbers, tin-stamped ceilings, stained glass, and mahogany bar, have been retained. Dim Sum Palace has honored the historic building’s first proprietors by keeping the original H and K stained glass initials above the bar.

“The closure of Brooks 1890 in January 2025 marked the end of an era. Dim Sum Palace is dedicated to honoring this legacy by continuing the tradition of hospitality and community at Court Square,” an official press release said.

With its origins in New York City, Dim Sum Palace is a family-run Cantonese restaurant group that was founded in 2016. As the chain expands in the city, it is bringing the time-honored culinary tradition to New Yorkers.
