James Beard Award winners Jody Williams and Rita Sodi have been gradually shifting their focus away from downtown and adding new restaurants closer to Midtown. One of the newest will be a second location of their Bar Pisellino café in the Flatiron Building. The original location at Grove Street and Seventh Ave. is an all-day spot offering light fare, a full coffee program, and a full bar. According to reports, construction on the new location will start this summer, and the restaurant is expected to open in 2027. What Now New York has reached out for more information. In a press release, Williams and Sodi said they were thrilled to become a part of the Flatiron Building’s legacy, adding, “We cannot wait to bring that spirit to Bar Pisellino.”

News of the upcoming restaurant is just the latest big announcement from the award-winning duo. Last fall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that Williams and Sodi would be revamping museum food offerings and developing new concepts, starting with the Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters.
