A popular Mexican restaurant known for its upbeat atmosphere is coming soon to the Upper East Side.
Santo Taco will open on the ground floor of 201 E. 81st St., according to business filings.
It will join Santo Taco’s locations in SoHo and Union Square, along with a West Village outpost expected to open in September.
The restaurant blends Mexican heritage with New York lifestyle, serving chips and guacamole, tuna tostadas and, of course, its star attraction: tacos.
The tacos are served on flour tortillas and feature Santi’s steak trompo made with prime New York strip and top sirloin, along with chicken, pork carnitas, carne asada, shrimp, zucchini and mushrooms.
To complement the menu, Santo Taco offers signature refreshers, including pineapple and watermelon agua santa, plus margaritas and beer.
For diners who find themselves tapping their toes or dancing between bites, Santo Taco offers a curated playlist available to stream online.
“Music is a huge part of the Santo Taco experience. We wanted the playlist to feel energetic, unexpected, and fun. Something that might just make you want to stay for another taco,” the website reads.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, however, visit the Santo Taco website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
