Some exciting news is on its way to local Rangers fans looking to score big!

Scores Sports Bar is a new sports bar concept from the SCORES strip club chain. Known for their numerous appearances in movies, TV shows, and men’s magazines, SCORES is “world famous as the strip club that changed adult entertainment”. Now though, the SCORES team is getting ready to bring their sexy brand of magic to the bar business and have developed a brand new sports bar concept that they will be bringing to Manhattan for the very first time.

Scores Sports Bar has just secured a 15-year lease for the space at 416 Eighth Avenue. Occupying the space that previously housed Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, the location boasts a total 9,000 square feet of space across the basement, first and second floors. Brother Jimmy’s was a popular North Carolina-based bbq joint that sadly closed last April as a result of the pandemic. Sadly, their eighth avenue flagship location was Brother Jimmy’s last New York outpost, but seriously dedicated fans can still find Brother Jimmy down south in Maryland and Orlando.

The new sports bar concept will be operated by Rich Rosen, who currently serves as president and CEO of American Sports Bar Entertainment. The former owner of the SCORES strip club on West 28th Street, Robert Gans, is not involved with this new project and has shuttered his entire portfolio after filing for bankruptcy earlier this year. When speaking about the Scores brand with Commerical Observer, Rosen stated that “The interest here is taking a famous name, rebranding it, and the goal is to be the top sports bar in the country within a few years,” noting his intentions to open up more NYC location in 2024 and adding that the concept is “really more geared towards sports but it will have some flash to it”.

Located across the street from Madison Square Garden, the bar is uniquely positioned to bring in an abundance of foot traffic from tourists and locals alike. Brad Schwartz of Lee & Associates NYC said of the deal that “416 Eighth Avenue is in a prime corner restaurant location, with amazing branding potential.”

At the moment, Scores is currently aiming for an early fall opening date. For more information, you can follow Scores Sports Bar on Instagram.
