Sandbox VR is opening its first New York City location this month. The entertainment venue will bring the brand’s immersive virtual reality experiences to the city. It will also mark the brand’s continued expansion.
Sandbox VR Is Opening Its First NYC Location
Sandbox VR is opening its new location in Times Square at 777 7th Avenue on October 23. It will be within walking distance of Broadway’s Theatre District, Rockefeller Center, and Radio City Music Hall. The opening will also mark the company’s 100th location worldwide.
According to a company announcement published by PR Newswire, the venue will feature six private VR rooms for groups of up to six guests. Players will use headsets, haptic vests, and motion sensors to interact in virtual environments. The 10,324-square-foot space will also include two party rooms and a bar for private events and group gatherings.
Guests can choose from 12 virtual reality experiences, including Deadwood Origins, which is the latest installment in the company’s zombie game series. Other options include Stranger Things: Catalyst, Squid Game Virtuals, Age of Dinosaurs, and Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire.
Each experience allows players to interact with one another in a virtual world. Customers who book by October 22 can save 20% on tickets, according to the company’s announcement.
“Times Square is where the world comes together, so it is the perfect home for the most social VR experience in the world,” said Carolyne Chan, co-owner of JLG Ventures. “October 23 can’t come soon enough. And this is just the beginning; we plan to open more locations across New York City.”
