An indoor, membership-only golf destination is expanding its New York City presence this fall.
Golf v.2 will tee off its newest location at 1865 Broadway, joining the brand’s existing locations in Tribeca, Brooklyn Heights and East Hampton.
“We look for places that are between 1,500 to 2,500 square feet. The target areas are areas with disposable income, but mainly where families and schools are. The Upper West Side doesn’t have indoor golf, and it’s an area with families, so it makes a lot of sense,” founder Alberto Rezende told Whatnow New York City.
The new facility will mirror Golf v.2’s other locations, featuring four TrackMan-powered golf simulator bays and a putting green. TrackMan is a golf technology system using radar and cameras to track ball and club data, providing detailed swing analysis.
Guests can bring their own golf clubs or rent Callaway or Srixon clubs.
Memberships range from monthly to annual tiers. Monthly members can bring one guest free each time they tee off, while annual members can book an entire bay for multiple guests.
“We’re a little different. We’re a little bit more curated. We’re purely training and instruction. We have what is now the largest junior program in New York City. We’re partners with PGA camps, PGA Junior League, and we’re PGA certified. We pay a lot of attention to the certification of our staff,” he said.
The junior golf program uses a fun, engaging approach based on the American Development Model and Socratic method, encouraging young golfers to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills and ownership of their game.
Rezende is looking to further expand Golf v.2’s presence across New York City.
“The most exciting thing is actually bringing the spot to kids that don’t have the ability to play because it is challenging for them to do it in a city setting,” he said.
