Wheatfields Restaurant & Bar in Saratoga Springs is gearing up to shut its doors following 38 years in business. The restaurant, located at 440 Broadway, will close September 26, according to owners Tim and Colleen Holmes.
Wheatfields Saratoga to Cease Operations
The Holmes couple shared the news with diners through a recent Facebook post. The couple said they had made the ‘difficult decision’ to close the Saratoga Springs location after 38 years in business.
In the post, the owners wrote, “After 38 years of serving Saratoga Springs and the surrounding communities—including the past 22 years under our ownership—we have made the difficult decision to close Wheatfields Saratoga. Our last day will be Saturday September 26th.”
Wheatfields has served fresh-made pasta since 1988. Menu offerings included pasta, vegetarian, seafood, beef, and chicken dishes, along with a full bar and wine collection. The restaurant’s owners said they were grateful to guests, vendors, staff, and the community for their support.
Other Wheatfields Locations Remain Open
The post added that while the Saratoga Springs location is closing, Wheatfields will continue services at other existing places. The restaurant owners posted, “Although this chapter is coming to an end, the Wheatfields story continues. We invite you to visit us at Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar in Clifton Park at The Crossing and at our sister restaurant, Beer Wine Pizza (BWP) on Weible Ave in Saratoga, where you’ll find the same hospitality, great food, and familiar faces.”
Gift cards purchased at Wheatfields Saratoga will also remain valid at the Clifton Park location, according to the post.
Several customers commented on the announcement. One of them wrote, “Awww, I’m absolutely heartbroken!! Thank you for being my favorite dinner spot as a celiac.”
Another comment read, “Before the tariffs we vacationed in Saratoga for 30 years and we would treat ourselves to a couple of visits for fabulous meals each year. We have lovely memories there. Thank you for such a wonderful place.”
