Sarasota’s Element Restaurant Announces Closure After Lease Loss
Element is an iconic high-end restaurant located near the corner of Main Street and Pineapple Avenue, close to the Sarasota Opera House and Marina Jack. It is known for serving steak, seafood, and house-made pasta dishes.
The restaurant team confirmed the closure in a social media post, setting April 26 as its final day of operations.
In the announcement, the team said the decision followed the loss of its lease at the location.
With the announcement, the restaurant team invited the community to visit the restaurant before it shuts down. To celebrate the final chapter of Element on Main Street, the restaurant is offering a special 10-course tasting menu. The menu will be available only on April 26 and is priced at $100 per person.
Following the announcement, fans shared memories and messages under the post. One of the fans wrote, “Terrible news! You will all be ok. We will stop by to say hello. And I will follow wherever you go!”
Owners Search for New Location, Targeting 2026 Reopening
While the current location is closing, the owners of the restaurant shared a special announcement in a social media video.
According to a Business Observer report, Chef Scott Morlock of Element has stated that the restaurant is actively searching for a new location in the city. The restaurant owner hopes to reopen Element in 2026.
