RESRG Automotive will close its Evansville plant, according to a WARN notice filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The company will lay off 266 employees at the plant, expected to take effect from June.

RESRG Automotive to Close Evansville Plant

RESRG Automotive filed a notice on April 14 under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The company will permanently close its plant located at Congress Avenue in Evansville.

The closure will impact all the employees at the plant, which consists of both hourly and salaried positions. The closure will be carried out in five phases, from June 6 through December 31, 2026. The filing outlines the number of impacted employees and job titles for each phase.

The company also stated it will support employees affected by the closure. All affected employees will be offered the opportunity to seek employment at other RESRG Automotive facilities.

According to a report by 14 News from earlier this year, the company officials cited market conditions as the reason for the closure. A decrease in demand for plating due to changes in vehicle design and the shift from chrome to painted finishes has impacted the business.
