Located in Manhattan’s Aggieville district, McCool’s Bar + Kitchen is preparing to shut its doors permanently. After four years, the restaurant will close at the end of May.

The owners said they are stepping back to spend more time with their families. The current space will be listed for sale.

Aggieville Dining Spot McCool’s Bar + Kitchen to Close Doors This May

Jeff Zerr and Casey McCool opened McCool’s Bar + Kitchen in the Aggieville district of Manhattan, Kansas, in 2022. The community-favorite spot is known for its casual and vibrant atmosphere, along with its pub fare.

The restaurant has focused on fresh, handmade dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. It also features a classic sports bar and offers local beers like Busch Light and Michelob Ultra. Along with the wide range of beer options, the bar also serves cocktails, wells, and spirits.

In an Instagram post, owners Jeff Zerr and Casey McCool announced the closure. They said, “After a lot of thought and reflection, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors.”

The restaurant’s final day of service is May 30, 2026.

The owners thanked customers for their continued support and shared, “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who walked through our doors, shared a meal, laughed with us, and supported us along the way. You made this journey unforgettable.”

The restaurant owners explained that they are closing to spend more time with the family.

“At this point in our lives, we’ve decided it’s time to step back and focus more on our family and the moments that matter most,” highlighted the owners.

According to the social media announcement, the McCool space will be put up for sale. The space will be available either as a turnkey restaurant or for a new concept.

Although the McCool’s space is shutting down, the owner has assured that it is not a final goodbye. Their sister bar, Mojos, will remain open and continue hosting events in the area.

“Mojos will remain open, and we’ll be moving many of the events you know and love over there. We hope to continue seeing all of you there,” said the owners.

As McCool’s Bar + Kitchen moves into its final chapter, the team is encouraging the Manhattan community to visit and enjoy the food for the last time.
