Brick + Bramble is preparing to permanently close after three years of service. The bar and restaurant will host its last day of service on Sunday, May 24. The owners cited lease expiration and challenges faced by small businesses as the reasons for closure.
Local Favorite Brick + Bramble is Shutting Down
Brick + Bramble is one of the most popular cocktail bars and restaurants in the Illinois area. The upscale bar is located at Ironworks Plaza in Edwardsville, Madison County.
The restaurant serves handcrafted cocktails, an extensive wine selection, and a food menu featuring small plates and other pub fare options.
In an Instagram post, owners Ryan and Laura High announced the closure. The owners wrote, “After three unforgettable years, we have made the difficult decision to close Brick + Bramble.”
The owners added an emotional note and thanked the community for its continued support. “Thank you for allowing us to be part of this community. We will always be proud of what Brick + Bramble became.”

They also invited the fans and community to stop in before the final day of service.
Lease End Drives the Closure
The owners said lease expiration influenced the decision to close. “With the upcoming expiration of our lease, the timing feels right—even if it isn’t easy,” they said.
They also requested the community “to support the locally owned restaurants and small businesses.”
As the restaurant announced its closure, many loyal customers expressed their disappointment. “It was a pleasure dining with you! I can’t wait to see what you do next,” wrote one of the customers.
Brick + Bramble marks the end of its final chapter in the Edwardsville community, with its May 24 final dinner.
