Chipotle Mexican Grill wants to open a new location at 12007 Beach Blvd in Stanton, city records reveal. The brand has filed a plan application with the OC Health Care Agency for a project remodeling the space to be suitable for a new restaurant.

The address, currently the site of a KFC, is situated in the Plaza Galleria Shopping Center, adjacent to a Home Depot and a Pizza Hut. It is just a few miles south of Knott’s Berry Farm, and a bit north of the 22 freeway.

Plans have been received and are currently under review, as of June 6. If approved, the current structure will undergo significant remodeling. It’s unclear what will happen to the KFC that is currently operating there.

Founded in 1993 by Steve Ells, Chipotle Mexican Grill has grown from a single restaurant in Denver, Colorado, to a global brand with over 2,600 locations. The company revolutionized the fast-casual dining experience with its focus on customizable, high-quality food options.
