Fedoras, at 24401 Ridge Route Drive, is now operating as Neighbors Bar & Grille. The change was swift but the switchero has been months in the making, Co-Owner Douglas Fury tells What Now Orange County.
Fury and wife Kristy, alongside physical residential neighbors Jacki and Joseph Waitman, took over the restaurant and bar on November 1, 2023.
Seperate from the name, the only other significant change the new owners are implementing is ditching karaoke…for now, Fury said.
“We’re not saying we’re not going to bring it back but it’s on hold for now,” Fury said. “We still have live music, dancing, and all of the sporting events.”
The Furys and Waitmans, operating under Furman Holdings, LLC, have been in negations to take over Fedoras since March 2023. Today, the new owners are making small changes to give Fedoras its Neighbors feel with exterior signage inbound once approved by the city.
“It’s turnkey,” Fury said. “Same kitchen, same staff, same menu.” Since the new owners want Neighbors to be more family-focused, there are plans to roll out a kid’s menu as soon as possible with more changes likely down the road.
“[Kristy] and I have wanted to open a sports bar and grill and our literal neighbors [Jacki and Joseph] are in the restaurant business so we all decided instead of working for the man, we’d open a restaurant together,” Fury said.
