Yummy Dogs, a gourmet hot dog concept owned and operated by the father/daughter team of Mitchell Gold and Julie Caricato, will be coming to 381 Forest Avenue, Suite 100-A in Laguna Beach.

According to a spokesperson for Yummy Dogs, the team is shooting for an early January opening and will be operating in a prime Laguna Beach location, just a few blocks from the PCH.

Yummy Dogs will be splitting the roughly 1,100-square-foot space, which formerly housed Catmosphere, a cat cafe and rescue. On one side, diners can enjoy gourmet dogs inspired by Gold’s childhood in New York City, while the other area will host a slate of arcade games that promise to be fun for the whole family.

The menu will feature gourmet plays on classic franks like the New York and the Chicag, which receives a SoCal twist with the addition of Serrano chilis. Look out for locally inspired creations too, like the Laguna that comes loaded with avocado, bacon, tomato, and a house white sauce, or the TJ, inspired by the flavors of Tijuana, with pico and chipotle aioli.

With plans to keep the doors open until 9:00pm, it should come as no surprise that beer and wine will also be available.
