“We are working hard to reopen soon!!!” said a recent post published on Instagram by John 3:16 Caffe. “We miss our John 3:16 Caffe family!”
Founded by Kristy Cook, John 3:16 Caffe is envisioned not only as a coffee shop, but as a spiritual project.
“Years ago, I was given the vision of a coffee shop by way of a dream,” says a statement by Cook on the John 3:16 Caffe website. “Since then, I have been seeking out ways to live it out. I am walking by faith every step of the way. I believe Christ is paving the way for his gospel to spread; therefore, I am to be His hands and feet. As I am walking in the purpose God has prepared for me, I am crafting the art of coffee as I share Christ with those around me one cup at a time.”
What Now came across news of the reopening this week after reviewing plan review paperwork submitted for John 3:16 Caffe at 1111 New York Avenue.
The menu at John 3:16 Caffe has included coffee, cold brews, and Heavenly Bites like the Banana Bread Loaf (Widow of Zarephath): “This moist banana bread loaf is crafted with ripe bananas, a hint of cinnamon, and house-made oat flour. It is nut-free, gluten-free, and lactose-free, making it a delightful treat for everyone.”
What Now reached out to Kristy Cook this week to ask about plans for the reopening. Cook was not immediately available for comment.
