“Orlando, something new is brewing,” said an Instagram post published by upcoming coffee shop Shibam Orlando late last month. “Shibam is getting ready to open its doors on Rouse Road, bringing coffee, matcha, refreshers and a new place to meet, work, study or simply slow down for a bit.”
Opening at 3370 Rouse Road, Shibam Orlando will be debuting the Shibam Coffee brand in Florida. Founded in Michigan, the Yemeni coffee franchise has grown to include locations in states like Ohio, West Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania and more.
“Handpicked in Yemen’s highlands and roasted at Shibam Coffee Co., our beans deliver a clean, layered cup with warm spice and natural sweetness,” says the Shibam Coffee website. “The brew is smooth, aromatic, and free of bitterness. Sounds delicious right?”
The menu features a number of traditional coffee and tea drinks like Mufawar (Traditional Yemeni milk tea gently infused with cardamom for a smooth, comforting taste), Jubani (Bold Yemeni-style brew with a deep, smoky flavor and warming finish), Qishr (Traditional Yemeni coffee-husk tea with ginger and spices), and many others.
Shibam Orlando will open on Rouse Road just south of the University Boulevard intersection, joining a food and drink community that includes nearby restaurants like Chick-fil-A and Knight Library.
