An upscale Cyprus-inspired Mediterranean restaurant is preparing to close its doors in fall 2026. Árdana Food and Drink announced its closure and shared the news of the restaurant sale. The restaurant has finalized an agreement to sell the Newtown location to LaScala Restaurant Group.

Árdana Set to Close This Fall Following Ownership Change

Newtown’s renowned Mediterranean restaurant, Árdana Food and Drink, focuses on the culinary traditions of the island of Cyprus. It is known for serving unique twists on Mediterranean classics, including house-made spreads like whipped ricotta and hummus.

In a social media post, the owners shared the news of the upcoming closure. The team stated that after three and a half years of service, the restaurant located at 2948 S Eagle Road, Newtown, is closing this fall.

The team also shared that, “We’ve finalized an agreement to sell our Newtown location to LaScala Restaurant Group.”

The owners thanked customers for their support, saying it had been an honor to serve the Newtown community.

The owners also said they are grateful to LaScala Restaurant Group, as they have offered positions to all of the current Árdana employees.

About the Restaurant

Mike and Antoni Christou, a brother duo, founded and operate the concept restaurant. The concept is inspired by the Mediterranean tradition of meze, a selection of small dishes meant to be shared. The owners decided to turn the practice into an upscale yet casual communal dining experience.

Located in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, the restaurant features an open kitchen and an extensive beverage program.

Even though Árdana is closing, the owners are optimistic and are looking forward to LaScala Restaurant’s upcoming project. They mentioned, “We’re confident that LaScala Restaurant Group will build upon the foundation we’ve established here, and we know this community will continue to be well cared for.”

The Warrington location of Árdana Food & Drink and its sister restaurant, KC Prime Steakhouse, will continue to serve the community. As the restaurant enters its final months of operation, it invites the community to visit and enjoy one more meal.
