A newer entry in the fast-casual poultry scene is making moves to tighten its grip on the hearts and stomachs of Pennsylvania diners. Franchisees Sid and Shubreet Sidhu are opening new Shaq’s Big Chicken storefronts in the Lehigh Valley and Wilkes-Barre, reports QSR Magazine.

Precise locations have not yet been selected for the new storefronts. The franchising duo are signed on for three Big Chickens. The first, located in State College, is scheduled to open early next year. An opening timeline is not yet available for the Wilkes-Barre and Lehigh Valley restaurants; however given that no addresses are public yet, it may indeed be a long wait before locals can enjoy the chain’s cuisine.

Shaquille O’Neal confounded expectations in 2018, when he swapped his basketball for a chicken sandwich. The concept focuses on Southern-infused cuisine. Speaking of bringing the brand to Pennsylvania diners, Harsimrat Sidhu previously stated in a press release: “We are super excited to bring more BIG flavor, BIG food and BIG fun to the people of Pennsylvania. We fell in love with the Big Chicken flavor profile and the variety of menu items they offer. Big Chicken really felt like a family to us.”
