The wait is over: A hip cookie shop is expanding in the greater Philadelphia area with the opening of a new location.
Cookie Plug is set to open at The Bradford Plaza in West Chester at 698 Downingtown Pike, Suite 16, with franchise owner Khaled Salem leading the effort.
“West Chester has great vibes and population. We believe it’s going to be a nice fit,” Salem told What Now Philadelphia.
The West Chester shop will become the third Cookie Plug in the area and Salem’s second location; he also operates the Media outpost. A separate location in Allentown is run by franchisee Carlos Silver.
Salem said each location follows the same concept rooted in street culture, graffiti art, hip-hop music and oversized cookies, while the West Chester shop will incorporate local touches.
Cookie Plug offers 12 cookies, with one rotating monthly as the “secret stash.” Each cookie is a signature “thick stack,” blending part cake, part brownie and part cookie. Standout flavors include the “O.G. Cookie,” a classic chocolate chip; “Pixie Junkie,” a sugar cookie; and “Firecracker,” a s’mores-inspired option.

Salem said he plans to continue expanding in the future.
“People are asking me, “When are you going to open in Philly or King of Prussia or Exeter.’ We hope to expand in all those areas one day,” he said.
The West Chester location remains under construction, with an opening targeted for four to five weeks.
