A new year means new eats for Monmouth County, thanks to a local franchisee. Peter Labib is bringing the popular Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers brand to the area, reports local media outlet Asbury Park Press.

No official addresses are yet available for Labib’s four Freddy’s locations, however the entrepreneur believes that the concept will be a great fit for the area. He tells What Now Philadelphia “I’ve always wanted to do my own fast-casual restaurant. So I’ve been looking for some time. The reason I landed on Freddy’s was of Freddy’s dedication to genuine hospitality and tasty quality menu items. I am very excited to be able to introduce the Freddy’s brand to a new area and reach new guests who haven’t tried Freddy’s amazing steak-burgers and frozen custard before. ”

Labib chose Monmouth out of two available New Jersey markets both due to its proximity and its current rate of development. He explains: “I live close to Monmouth County, I am familiar with the cities in Monmouth County. The area is still-growing with great opportunities to place Freddy’s premium quality steak burgers.  I believe Monmouth County residents would enjoy Freddy’s once it is opened.”

While future regulars will still have to wait a bit to try Freddy’s delicious cuisine, Labib is hopeful that Monmouth residents will be able to sink their teeth into the fare in 2025. He states: “I’m currently negotiating four sites and I’m hoping to be able to agree on one of them in the next weeks. So maybe between the second and third quarter of next year-hopefully by summer of next year.”

Labib will be opening his four Monmouth Freddy’s restaurants over the next four-and-a-half years, contributing to the chain’s objective of expanding to 21 new locations.
