After 53 years of service, a longtime favorite American diner in Pennsylvania, Zoto’s Diner is preparing to shut down permanently. The restaurant owners shared the closure announcement on social media with a farewell message and stated that this Sunday will be its last day of service.
Zoto’s Diner Prepares to Close Permanently
Zoto’s Diner was established in 1973 by two brothers, Steve and Nick Zoto. The space features a cozy and warm dining experience perfect for casual dining and large family gatherings.
Located at 1100 Bethlehem Pike in Line Lexington, Pennsylvania, the restaurant is a beloved dining spot. In a Facebook post, the restaurant owners, Steve and JoAnne, shared the heartbreaking news of its closure.
They stated that Zoto’s Diner will be closing its doors permanently after 53 years of business; the restaurant will serve its final customers on Sunday, October 25.
The owners thanked the community, staff, and customers for their support. The team also encouraged the community to visit the restaurant and said, “We hope all of our loyal customers will come in to see us as much as possible over these next couple of weeks.”
Community Reaction on Social Media
According to a First Source News report, the sudden closure decision was driven by the property redevelopment plans. The restaurant property is planned to be demolished for a new Sheetz convenience store and gas station project.
Following the closure announcement, regular customers of the restaurant shared heartfelt messages on social media. One of the customers wrote, “Zoto’s was the epicenter of so many of our family memories and experiences.”
Another customer shared a cherished memory and noted, “Since 1993, it’s one of our favorite diners for breakfast. My son and daughter worked there when teenagers. Many memories, nice people, and great food; of course, people are going to miss such a nice place.”
With the closure of Zoto’s Diner, the Pennsylvania dining community is losing a gem of a place.
