A pair of experienced restaurateurs are preparing to apply their years of hospitality experience to a brand new venture. Husband-and-wife duo Steve and Jacqueline Ferentinos are introducing Honey & Oak Cafe, their latest innovation, to Carlisle later this year, reports Penn Live.
Jacqueline Ferentinos spoke with What Now Philadelphia about the inspiration behind the new restaurant coming to 530 West High Street. She explains that during their long career she and Steve have explored a wide range of concepts, but Honey & Oak will return them to their favorite niche. “We’ve been in the business since 2010… We’ve done everything from bars to pizza shops to breakfast. The thing we enjoy the most is the breakfast scene.” she says, adding “We wanted to do something back to our original roots. We wanted to incorporate Bagel Boutique and our previous breakfast place and we felt like that was the perfect spot.“
The Ferentinos specialize in breathing new life into buildings that require considerable renovation, which made their new space ideal for their purposes. Jacqueline adds that the local community is one the pair is enthusiastic about joining, saying “We love that it’s near a college campus and the neighbors around there are amazing.”
Honey & Oak will offer a hip but welcoming dining experience. Jacqueline describes what future regulars can look forward to, stating: “It is very much what’s trending right now, the rustic hipster kind of feel. The name derived from what my husband and I bring to our businesses-me being honey, him being oak. He and I have done these together since 2010. He’s the guy who’s great in the kitchen and knows the product, I come up with the design and menu and concept. Honey and Oak is basically an experience that is natural and wholesome so our ingredients are fresh and quality. Oak represents the quality and high standards and the honey is the sweetness and richness of the menu.“
While the menu is not yet finalized, Jacqueline assures fans of Bagel Boutique-another Ferentinos concept-that they can look forward to enjoying aspects of its cuisine.
Carlisle foodies can anticipate a pleasant environment and carefully crafted cuisine once Honey & Oak opens in late April or early May. Jacqueline sums up the restaurant’s aspirations, saying: “We like to keep up with the trending menu items. The warmth and hospitality we offer in our business-this is bringing it all together.”
