Stephen Starr, one of Philly’s busiest restauranteers, is refusing to lose momentum in 2025. The celebrated hospitality veteran has big plans for a new restaurant in Rittenhouse Square, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Starr will be taking over the space at 225 South 18th Street that housed Devon Seafood Grill since 1999. The name and nature of the 8,800 square-foot building’s new tenant is not yet known, however Starr expects to open the eatery late next year. The concept will also feature an outdoor dining space, allowing diners to enjoy a scenic view of the city.

Stephen Starr is no stranger to Rittenhouse Square, a prime retail and dining mecca. He currently has seven restaurants open and operational in or near the neighborhood, with another-Borromini-in development and set to open this summer. This new concept will bring Starr’s Rittenhouse roster up to 9, giving him quite the monopoly in the region.
