Patchwork Restaurant in the Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia is getting ready to open its doors to feed hungry guests in Rittenhouse Square. The $81 million hotel at 1620 Chancellor St. opened last year. While Patchwork Bar has opened to customers, the 1,700 sq. ft. restaurant won’t be open until January, according to the hotel’s website.

“Patchwork is a new restaurant from Hospitality HQ in the new Hyatt Centric Hotel just off of the famous Rittenhouse Square. Here, Patchwork will showcase creative American fare from Chef Akhtar Nawab,” the post reads.

Hospitality HQ is a Brooklyn-based creative consulting and management group that has been involved in projects like Otra Vez, Marble City Market, and Le Fantome. It was founded by Michawel Wetherbee and Nawab in 2019. Nawab, a Kentucky native, is both chef and owner of New York restaurants Alta Calidad and Alta Calidad Taqueriak and Otra Vez in New Orleans. He has more than 25 years of experience and also serves as an advisor at Prather’s on the Alley in Washington D.C. The idea for the name “Patchwork” represents the diversity of Philadephia’s neighborhoods that come together like the fabrics of a quilt.

“You’ll get a true Philadelphian experience with design elements that give a nod to the Quaker roots of our region and a menu inspired by the flavors that can be found cooking in the kitchens of local row homes,” the hotel’s websites says.
