A popular bakery and cafe is relocating this fall amid rising rent costs, but fear not, its same whimsical energy is coming along for the move.
Latte Lounge & Bake Shoppe, owned by Seana Sapunarich, is relocating from 690 Allegheny Rd. in Mt. Bethel to 15 Broadway St. in Bangor.
“The new location we found just happened to be such a blessing. I’m a part of Parks and Rec. in my town of Bangor, and everyone on the board was like, ‘We have this perfect spot.’ I went and saw it, and it was more than I could have ever wanted,” Sapunarich told Whatnow Philadelphia.
The new space, which previously operated as a cafe, will be three times larger than the Mt. Bethel location. The design will feature a built-in oak bench stretching across an entire wall, with tables positioned in front. A full cafe bar will anchor the space, with one half dedicated to baking and the other offering bar seating.
The aesthetic will stay the same.
“In our old location, we had a lot of decorations. The kids love this magical tree. It’s a paper wisteria tree. We also have all our magical signs that light up. It’s all coming,” she said.
Latte Lounge & Bake Shoppe plans to expand its offerings with a larger selection of cupcakes, cookies and brownies, along with breads and bagels. The team will also introduce a breakfast and lunch menu featuring lighter sandwiches, including chicken and tuna salad.
“We’re also going to co-mingle with Lauren Stout. She owns Mixed Up Flavors. She’s going to be doing take-out dinners twice a week, and then we’re going to be doing a community brunch on Sundays,” Sapunarich said.
Sapunarich developed a love for baking at a young age.
“I used to bake with my mom ever since I was young. She was really into baking pies and cookies. When I had my son, she would bake with him too. She passed away five years ago. I continued to bake as a hobby, which became something that just took on more of a meaning after she passed away,” she said.
Sapunarich looks forward to reopening the shop, especially in the town she calls home.
“I’m excited about being a part of the community I live in. It’s a town where a lot of people walk through. I just think it;s going to be a great location,” she said.
Latte Lounge & Bake Shoppe will hold its grand reopening at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. Follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
