A Manayunk storefront is keeping the dough, but losing the sauce. Beloved carb purveyors Kismet Bagels will be taking over the space that currently houses Pizza Jawn when the latter business moves operations, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The 4330 Main Street space will be shifting gears (and tenants) later this year. Pizza Jawn will continue making pies in the building until late April, and Kismet owners Jacob and Alexandra Cohen are hoping to begin serving their signature bagels in June or July.
Started as a pandemic project in 2020, Kismet Bagels has developed a strong hold on the hearts and stomachs of Philly-area foodies. The Cohens have a busy and auspicious 2025 ahead of them; in addition to the new Manayunk location, the duo plan to open shops in Ventnor, Chestnut Hill, and Collingswood.
Kismet makes the titular dish using a long fermentation process that results in the perfect bagel-crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. In addition to the eatery’s selection of bagels, customers can choose from a wide range of schmears, including a variety of cream cheeses and whitefish salad.
