Joe Winiarski is taking his home brewing operation big time with a bit of help from his family when they open Mystic Ways Brewing in Perkasie this December. Mystic Ways Brewing will be run by Winiarski, his sister Angie Winiarski, and his mother Alice Krier. Their location at 510 1/2 W. Walnut St. is currently being renovated. When they open, Mystic Ways Brewing will concoct their beers on the lower level, while the ground level will host their pub and tasting room outfitted with 10 taps. The brewery also plans on opening an outdoor beer garden and serving area. Mystic Ways Brewing will initially work with local restaurants to feed their customers before introducing their own kitchen.
“We have some surprises in store we want to wait to unveil on opening day. It will have an outdoorsy kind of theme along with interactive elements for the decor, which we think will be really fun for the whole family,” Angie Winiarski told What Now Philadelphia.
The 1,200 sq. ft. tasting room will also feature art from Winiarski’s wife, Florencia D’Amelio. Winiarski, who was an ICU nurse for 10 years, became a master brewer at Red Lion Brewery in Quaker town after building his own brewing equipment and growing his own hops in his backyard. Mystic Ways Brewing’s future customers will get to experience Winiarski’s scientific approach to beer making with experimental batches that will be regularly available along with Mystic Ways classics.
“Perkasie has been really good to work with. It’s hard to find a township or borough where you want to set up in a walkup community,” said Alice Krier. “We were really fortunate Perkasie was looking for a microbrewery in their center, so the timing was really good.”
