Exciting news for Fishtown foodies; a renowned  New York hospitality group is bringing a fresh concept to the neighborhood. Unapologetic Foods will be debuting an as-of-yet unnamed Indian restaurant and bar next year, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The eatery’s future home at 1700 Frankford Avenue is currently under construction. The ground floor space will be able to accommodate around 90 patrons. The floor plan calls for an open kitchen and grill area, with a “minibar” in the basement.

Unapologetic Foods is the passion project of Roni Mazumdar and chef Chintan Pandya, a James Beard Award-winner. The duo emphasizes bringing the street food of under-explored Indian regions to the fore.

Speaking of bringing Unapologetic Foods to Philadelphia, Mazumdar states “I couldn’t have thought of a better food city than Philadelphia in my mind”, calling it “really exciting, with people who are taking chances.”

While a precise opening date is not currently available, Unapologetic Foods plans to make its entrance into the Philadelphia food scene in 2025.
