Neptune is preparing to welcome a new pizza restaurant. Nino’s Coal Fired Pizza is opening in Monmouth County later this year, reports local media outlet Asbury Park Press.

Though no official opening date has been announced, the Brick favorite is hoping to open its newest home at 2705 3351 N-66 in late autumn. Nino’s is taking over the 1,700 square-foot property vacated by Gianni’s Pizzeria earlier this year.

Nino’s proprietor Anthony Schifilliti expressed enthusiasm for Nino’s new spot, stating “I love the location on Route 66.” He adds that the building, which will provide seating for 50 to 60 customers, needs to undergo cosmetic improvements before the restaurant can open.

Nino’s will focus on preparing and serving high-quality pizza, however Schifilliti has not yet determined whether the pies will be wood-oven or traditionally prepared. The cuisine will be made using family recipes that trace their origins back to Sicily. The location will also offer take-out.

Schifilliti aims to offer delicious pizza, sold at reasonable prices. The  restauranteer states “I still believe people want quality food. If you have an opportunity to get great quality food but not have to spend five-star prices, this now is a home run, win-win for everyone.”

Nino’s has experienced ups and downs since its debut in 2008. The restaurant previously had several locations, all of which closed except for the Brick eatery. The Neptune spot will be Nino’s second store.
