Earlier this week, Bensalem’s nearly five decades old racetrack and gaming hub Parx Casino received approval from the local Township Council for an adjacent hotel, which includes plans for two restaurants managed in-house, as well as a coffee shop, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In a statement emailed to What Now Philadelphia, a spokesperson for Parx Casino said, “The Township Council meeting on Monday night was just a step in the planning process for the Parx hotel project,” who added, “We are planning a hotel with amenities. Once it is fully designed and approved, we will confirm the project and I will be happy to share details.”

Nevertheless, according to the Business Journal, the plan calls for two restaurants, one of which will be located in the lobby while the other will be a more high-end concept atop the hotel’s roof, with seating for about 260 diners and commanding views of Center City Philadelphia.

What’s more, Parx Casino chief operating officer, John Dixon, told the Business Journal that the lobby restaurant will feature a “show kitchen…for opportunities to bring in celebrity chefs and other culinary guests.”
