A new ice cream shop will be helping to make summer in New Jersey a little sweeter. Salty’s Inlet Ice Cream will begin serving scoops at Point Pleasant Beach when the heat hits, reports local media outlet NJ.com.

The sweet shop is taking over the space at 101 Ocean Avenue N. that formerly housed Strollo’s Lighthouse. Salty’s, owned by Steph and Dave Salardino, does not have a precise grand opening date established yet, however the entrepreneurs are planning a soft opening in early May.

Salty’s will provide foodies with a wide-range of sweet options. In addition to classic hard ice cream, the shop will feature soft-serve, Dole whip, Italian ice, milkshakes, and vegan options.

The Salardinos are planning to make Salty’s an indelible part of the Point Pleasant Community. The pair want the ice creamery to be around for the long haul. Dave states: “We want to create a family empire. We want this to be generational. Our kids are part owners with us, and we want this to be the start of many more going forward. It’s a very long-term family plan.”
