Montvale residents soon won’t have to choose between a healthy meal and a fast meal. Sweetgreen, the popular fast-casual salad chain, is opening a new location in the area, listed on their website as “coming soon”.

The restaurant will be moving into a space at 200 Market Street in the North Market district. This new spot will be Sweetgreen’s second Bergen County location; the chain also has a storefront in Hackensack.

An opening timeline for Sweetgreen’s Montvale location isn’t currently available.

Sweetgreen has been offering patrons healthy, fast-casual options since it first opened its doors in Washington, DC in 2007. The chain’s “plant-forward, earth friendly” salads, bowls, and plates have earned it a loyal fan-following that has allowed the brand to spread its cuisine across the nation. As of December of 2023, Sweetgreen has 221 stores in the United States. Founded by college friends Nicolas Jammet, Nathaniel Ru, and Jonathan Neman, the company strives to provide fresh, healthy, sustainable fast-casual options.
