Philadelphia summer won’t end without one more exciting dining arrival. Tailgate Sports Bar, a new concept from restaurateur Garis Eddington, is bringing great food with a healthy side of athletic enthusiasm to the Northern Liberties neighborhood later this year, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The restaurant will be bringing customers more than 30 tvs to help root for the home team at the 1033 North 2nd Street storefront. Eddington intends to have Tailgate up and ready to greet customers in August.
The 9,000 square foot space previously housed Figo until it shut down in March of this year. Tailgate Sports Bar will be bringing a very fresh energy to the space, anchored by sports decor and incredibly cozy outdoor seating, complete with firepits and lounges.
Tailgate will be open from 12 pm to 11 pm or midnight on Mondays through Thursdays and from noon until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant will operate from noon until 10 pm on Sundays.
Philadelphians can look forward to enjoying classic pub fare once the concept opens its doors; the menu will feature favorites including pizzas, wings, and chicken fingers.
As for Eddington, he is excited to bring something unique to the City of Brotherly Love. He states: “We just want to give the community something that they can enjoy and call theirs…I’m excited for Philadelphia, because when they walk in there, they’re going to be surprised of what’s going on inside of there.”
