Like many American malls, The Christiana Mall in Newark, DE, has seen a lot of change in tenants during the pandemic. Tommy’s Tavern + Tap is among the mall’s new additions recently announced on the mall’s website. Delaware Online reports that Tommy’s Tavern + Tap, a concept by Triple T Hospitality, will inhabit JB Dawson’s former space between Macy’s and Nordstrom on the mall’s west side at 315 Christiana Mall.
Tommy’s Tavern + Tap currently has six New Jersey locations in Sea Bright, Freehold, Clifton, Bridgewater, Princeton, and Morris Plains, as well as a Staten Island location. The Christiana Mall location is expected to open in the spring of 2022.
“Tommy’s Tavern + Tap is a rustic, industrial tavern and restaurant built on the concept of having an authentic, enjoyable experience. ‘It’s a vibe,’ is a phrase we hear the most, we are a place of enjoyment, innovation, and energy,” their website reads.
Triple T Hospitality is run by the Bonfiglio family, who also operates the Tio Taco + Tequilla Bar franchise and a catering/event business. Tommy and Yvette Bonfiglio had a vision for the run-down historical building they spotted during a morning walk in Sea Bright and transformed the space into a tavern in 2014. Tommy’s Tavern + Tap was named Monmouth County’s #1 Sports Bar and Restaurant in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020.
Tommy’s Tavern + Tap serves a varied menu of small and large plates, like their Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Penne Vodka with Chicken. They also serve soups, burgers and sandwiches, salads, specialty pizzas, calzones, and flatbread, sushi, and poke bowls, as well as an extensive beer, wine, cocktail, and dessert menu. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Tommy’s Tavern + Tap has something on their menu to make everyone happy.
