Once construction crews wrap up the finishing touches on Steak & Steel Hibachi, a new restaurant from the team behind Jim Thorpe’s MYST that’s set to open by the end of the year, they’ll head to Mountain Top and get started on another – albeit yet-to-be-named – hibachi and sushi joint, located at 12 Kirby Ave, according to co-owner, Josh Crownover.

“This place is on like two acres so we plan on doing a lot of outdoor seating, and a lot of patio space,” Crownover tells What Now Philadelphia. “Also, inside we’re going to have six to eight actual hibachi tables, where the chef serves in front of you. Other than that, we’re waiting on blueprints, so we’re still in the very, very early stages.”

Nevertheless, Crownover adds that the restaurant should open around late 2023.

Whereas Crownover is largely taking the lead in Mountain Top, business partner Rob Lewis is gearing up to open Steak & Steel Hibachi at 44 W. Walnut St in Bethlehem this month.

In an interview with What Now Philadelphia published earlier this year, Lewis explained, “I just love this city. I love the way it’s growing and thriving and becoming more and more of a suburb of Philadelphia if you will. We felt there should be a really awesome sushi and hibachi place here. And also, the people in Bethlehem are awesome. Everyone is so nice. It’s a very wholesome and connected area. As a small business, we try to assimilate into that level of community and integratedness. And we hope to be the place people automatically think of in Bethlehem when they think of sushi and hibachi.”
