A major sports retailer is gearing up to expand its New Jersey footprint with a new store opening later this year.
DICK’S House of Sport, an immersive retail concept from DICK’S Sporting Goods, is set to debut at Cherry Hill Mall.
Unlike traditional retail stores, House of Sport features hands-on attractions, including a rock climbing wall, turf field, golf simulators, an ice rink and HitTrax cages for baseball, softball, lacrosse, hockey and soccer, allowing visitors to try equipment before making a purchase.
Beyond its experiential features, the store carries athletic apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories designed for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Founded in 1948 as a small bait-and-tackle shop in Binghamton, New York, DICK’s Sporting Goods was established by Richard “Dick” Stack. What began as a single storefront expanded over the decades.
Today, DICK’S operates several brands, including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, Public Lands and Going Going Gone!, along with specialty concepts such as DICK’S House of Sport and Golf Galaxy Performance Center.
The Cherry Hill store will mark New Jersey’s third House of Sport location, joining existing outposts in Freehold and Jersey City.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, however, the mall’s website reads: “Opening in 2026.” Visit the DICK’s House of Sport website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
