Harbor Freight Tools, hardware, tool, garden, and automotive center, will open in a portion of the former Weis Markets space at Bethlehem‘s Westgate Mall this summer. According to The Morning Call, the Calabasas, California-based retailer will inhabit a 16,000 sq. ft. area at 2305 Schoenersville Rd., with the remaining 16,000 sq. ft. still available for leasing.

“We are certainly looking forward to being in this market and the opportunity to bring quality tools at affordable prices to folks in Bethlehem,” Trey Feiler, senior vice president of real estate, construction, and facilities for Harbor Freight Tools, told What Now Philadelphia.

Harbor Freight Tools was started by Eric Smidt and his father in 1977. Fast forward forty-plus years later, and the family-owned chain now has more than 1,200 stores.

“Over 40 million satisfied customers later, not only are we still family owned, but we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve continued to deliver an incredible assortment of quality tools to pros and DIYers alike at prices that are up to 80% less than competing brands,” their website states.

Matt Flath, the vice president of asset management for Onyx Equities, which owns and manages the Westgate Mall, told The Morning Call that Harbor Freight Tools’ Bethlehem storefront will get a new facade with additional improvements to be made to that area of the shopping center in the future.
