Fast-casual Italian chain Fazoli’s is opening a restaurant in Gilbert.

The restaurant is expected to open at 748 N Gilbert Road, just south of Guadalupe Road, though an opening date has not yet been announced. The restaurant will be operated by Tempe-based Kind Hospitality. Led by Nava Singam, Kind Hospitality entered into a multi-unit franchise agreement with Fazoli’s to open several Arizona restaurants in 2023.  According to East Valley Now, Gilbert had a Fazoli’s restaurant in the early 2000s, but the restaurant closed. This new spot marks a homecoming for the brand.

Fazoli’s was founded in 1988 in Lexington, Kentucky and owns and operates more than 208 restaurants across 28 states. In 2024, it announced its first international expansion, with plans to open 25 locations in Canada over the next 10 years.

The company prides itself on providing “premium quality Italian food, fast, fresh, and friendly”. It offers Italian-American dishes such as pasta, pizza, sub sandwiches, and salads, and is well-known for its signature unlimited garlic breadsticks. Specialties include lasagna, baked spaghetti and meatballs, boneless wings, and pizza. Fazoli’s also sells kids meals, spicy baked ziti, and caters events. The restaurant also serves busy families by offering family meals — a hearty bucket of pasta accompanied by breadsticks.
