Mahana Fresh plans to open its first Arizona restaurant at 943 S. Gilbert Road, Suite 101, in Mesa, KTAR reported. The chain’s website lists the location as coming soon.
Mahana Fresh franchisees Jason Albrecht, Ryan Lloyd, and Scott Rogers also own The Shop Gym next door, which they opened in 2017.
Their new restaurant will span more than 2,700 square feet and include indoor and outdoor seating. It is expected to open by the end of 2026, although an exact date has not been announced.
Albrecht told What Now Phoenix that he worked in the restaurant industry for several years before entering the fitness business. That experience made opening a restaurant a natural next step for the ownership group.
Although the two businesses will be neighbors, Albrecht said Mahana Fresh is not being developed specifically as an extension of the gym.
The Mesa restaurant will initially follow Mahana Fresh’s established menu. The chain specializes in customizable bowls, allowing customers to select a base, vegetables, protein, and sauce.
Its current menu also includes signature bowls, tacos, smoothies, and desserts, with several vegan and gluten-free options.
