Between work, family, responsibilities, and the constant pace of everyday life, finding time for yourself isn’t always easy. That’s exactly what founder Dasia Sade hopes to help women rediscover at OMI Pilates.

The boutique mat Pilates studio is preparing to open in North Phoenix this August, offering unheated mat classes focused on intentional movement, breathwork, and mindfulness.

The independently owned concept will be located near Northern Avenue and State Route 51, though an exact address has not yet been announced.

Before opening OMI Pilates, Dasia spent years working as a registered nurse. During that time, she noticed a recurring pattern among many of the women she encountered: stress, burnout, and a growing disconnect from themselves.

Pilates eventually became part of the solution. For Dasia, the practice offered a way to reconnect with herself and find balance amid the demands of working in a hospital environment.

“Pilates really became a tool for me to reconnect with my body and just find balance in between the hustle culture of working as a registered nurse in the hospital and then just returning to self,” Dasia told What Now Phoenix.

That experience ultimately inspired her to create OMI Pilates, a studio built around intentional movement, quiet strength, and helping women feel more connected to themselves.

“OMI was really born out of the desire to create the type of studio experience I felt like was missing. I really wanted a calm, elevated space where women can slow down and feel stronger in a sense that they can take that confidence that they built in the studio and apply it to everyday life.”

When the studio opens, members can expect non-heated mat Pilates classes with a maximum of 10 participants, highly trained instructors, and programming designed to create a welcoming environment from the moment they arrive.

“We specialize in small, intentional, curated classes that really focus on precision, breath work, and mindful movement. Our mission is to help women return to themselves through movement that cultivates quiet strength, composure, and confidence.”

The owner believes Phoenix is the ideal place for the concept. While she has watched the local wellness industry grow over the past decade, she has felt there is room for a different approach.

Dasia believes Phoenix is the ideal place for the concept. While she has watched the local wellness industry grow over the past decade, she has felt there is room for a different approach.

“What makes us different is that most studios focus on intensity, speed, and constant stimulation. We want to take a different approach and focus more on intentional movement. And as I looked around, there wasn’t really that option for us here in Phoenix, so I decided to just open it myself.”

As opening day approaches, Dasia Sade hopes people understand that OMI Pilates is about more than fitness.

“OMI represents intentional movement and self-mastery at its core. It’s about helping women develop a deeper relationship with themselves through consistency, presence, and strength. It’s more than Pilates. It’s an experience, and it’s an opportunity for you to kind of return to the woman you’ve always wanted to become.”

OMI Pilates has been sharing updates about the studio and its upcoming opening through its Instagram account.
