According to a recent article from Portland Business Journals, Away Days Brewing will be expanding to a second location in Troutdale at 104 SE Kibling Street.

“We’ve had a few opening dates in mind, but realistically, we are aiming for spring or summer of 2024,” co-owner Niki Diamond told What Now Portland.

“The brewery is building upon our current brand and visual approach to create an even more exciting taproom experience. The new space will have a lively atmosphere with elements reminiscent of the current taproom, such as a mural and vibrant tiles with colored grout. One of the key upgrades will be a larger brewery system that will allow for increased beer production.

“The taproom will feature a beer hall complete with a full kitchen, which we didn’t host at our first location. While classic brewery staples like burgers and mac ‘n’ cheese will be on the menu, we will also be bringing European bar snacks and English pub classics to the menu.”

Niki told What Now Portland that Away Days Brewing originally opened its doors in 2019, just six months before the pandemic hit. Before that in 2016, they owned an English pub with a soccer, or football, focus. The name “Away Days” is inspired by the football tradition of traveling to watch a sports team play away games. It embodies the spirit of camaraderie, beer, and sports. While the previous pub had a vintage and warm ambiance, the new taproom is designed to be modern, colorful, and fun.

Visitors can look forward to a speakeasy within the establishment, providing a cozy space for cocktails and barrel-aged beers. While it will be available on weekends, there is more to come in terms of its schedule, which will include private event rentals. Away Days Brewing is described as being known for its European-style beers, including cask beer, a traditional favorite in England. The authentic experience includes serving cask beer with a hand pump. All these core elements will continue in the new location but with more space and an expanded brewery.

Away Days is partnering with SMBX to raise funds for its opening as well. This investor model allows individuals to invest and receive a 10.5% interest. More information can be found on the brewery’s website.

“We really are thrilled to become a part of the Troutdale community, and we hope to be offering a place where locals can feel at home,” Niki added.
