A new books and bottles shop which has become a trend in various cities is coming to Portland.
Field Day Books & Bottles recently applied for a liquor license at 6836 NE Sandy Boulevard. Specifically, they applied for a limited on-premises license, which means the drinks can be consumed at the business.
“Portland’s only book and bottle shop,” says the description from their website. As the name suggests, they sell books like a normal bookstore as well as wine bottles and other drinks.
The business is seeking to open in the same space as Nam Phuong Market and next to MeKha Noodle Vietnamese restaurant. They advertise themselves as a queer-based bookstore and bottle shop. The owners have been posting on social media events they have been hosting to promote the business’s launch.
They have many different wines, beers, ciders, yerba mate and even kombucha available. Beers listed include the pFriem IPA, Breakside Pilsner, Away Days’ Pale, Guinness, Away Days’ European and Modelo. The wines are not listed on the websites.
The listed hours applied for are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It is noted the shop may change their hours seasonally.
