A Southern-style restaurant company with a major presence in California is planning new locations in the Pacific Northwest.
It was recently reported by RestaurantNews.com that Huckleberry’s Breakfast & Lunch is expanding to new locations around Portland. There will be three new sites in the area, but it isn’t clear where they will be built as of yet. The company plans on having 50 restaurants open by 2026.
Huckleberry’s has 35 locations in California, Nevada and Texas. There are currently plans on opening new locations in the Dallas area including in Sachse and Arlington. This will be the business’s first venture into the Pacific Northwest.
“Out family is thrilled to bring a taste of Southern hospitality to the Pacific Northwest,” said franchisee Scott Ganz in a press release.
As their name suggests, Huckleberry’s is known for their breakfast and lunch menu items. They serve waffles, crepes, french toast, flapjacks, and many different platters for breakfast. Their southern influence is highlighted with hand-breaded chicken tenders and Louisiana catfish for lunch, along with other sandwiches. They also serve alcoholic drinks like mimosas and bloody marys.
Ganz told What Now Portland his son will be the executive chef of the new restaurants. Ganz himself is part of the community and will be the first to open the new restaurants in the Portland area.
Information on where the new locations will be may be released in the coming months.
