According to a recent permit filing, a new concept called Maru Sushi has filed for a Hillsboro location at 5309 W Baseline Road.
A representative of Maru Sushi was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Portland’s request.
While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, according to the permit filing, Maru Sushi was filed for under 4 Giro INC. Portland’s business search states that two people are behind 4 Giro INC, which are Sophia Han and Alex June.
The property itself, according to Google, shares the same address as Hero Sushi. Hero Sushi is not currently marked as closed. Before Hero Sushi, Loop Net states that the property was once home to La Bella Vita Pizzeria.
The pizzeria was described as having 2,400 square feet of space and “Pizzeria/Italian Cuisine with a video poker room. Italian theme murals on walls along with private party room and 5 flat panel LCD Screens.”
Additionally, the property is stated to be a part of the Sunset Oaks Shopping Center. According to Pitchbook, the shopping center is “A 30,525-square-foot retail and medical center in Hillsboro, Oregon. The major tenants include Kaiser Permanente, Fresenius Medica Care, and Insomnia Coffee Company.”
