A new cider tavern is in the works in Portland.

Alchemy Cider Co. is planned for 818 SE Ankeny Street, according to a liquor license application with the City of Portland. It is expected to offer both food and beverage service.

According to a liquor license application with the City of Portland, operating hours for the establishment would be 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m Wednesday, and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Summer hours could be later.

Alchemy Cider Co. comes from Kirk Evans, who is not new to the hospitality and beverage space. According to a LinkedIn page, Evans previously worked for a Belgian beer distributor on the East Coast before moving to Portland in 2007. He worked with Mt. Hood Beverage, now Columbia Distributing, then founded a digital marketing agency focused on the cannabis industry. Prior to launching Alchemy Cider Co. this year, he was the marketing director at Bauman’s Cider Co. then head cidermaker and marketer at 19 Acres Cider.

Alchemy Cider Co. is expected to open in fall 2025.
